I first learned of it due to the custom one in the Hot Wheels Cool Classics series. I've got to find one sometime...

The first time I saw one, it was on the lake.

same here...it pulled up on to the beach of an island we go to for drinking purposes on a lake in the middle of no where in northern wisconsin...last place i'd expect to see one. craziest thing is this island is at least a couple miles from the nearest boat launch

Theres a few by me actually. That I know of, only one of them is still registered to go in water.
They're all red.

Back when I lived in Worcester, MA, there was a house next door to the art museum with a tired old amphicar in its driveway. There's a small part of me that kicks myself for not making an offer on it.
It's the same part of me that FOMOs about doing the same for a neglected old brown Saab 99 turbo, Inca wheels and all, that I once happened upon on a side street in Millbury.

There's at least one in or around Saskatoon. I saw it going in and out of the river during a music festival a few years back for a few bucks a go. A fair bit of noise for not a lot of go.
